Finding Safety and Support

It’s difficult to imagine anyone experiencing homelessness, especially a child. Keyonna became homeless in her teens after she had a falling out with her mom.

With no other family nearby, Keyonna had nowhere to turn. She lived in emergency shelters when she could and on the street.

Even while living in emergency shelters, Keyonna never gave up hope to move past homelessness. She was still working one to two jobs, but as a teenager, she couldn’t find a way and didn’t have the means it takes to acquire safe and stable housing.

Thanks to friends like you Keyonna found her Oasis. SJCS’s Oasis program provides young adults 18-24 who are experiencing homelessness with permanent supportive housing and access to community resources to leave homelessness behind.

Your generosity changed her life. You helped Keyonna have a bed and a home of her own, one where she feels safe and is getting the support she needs to make and achieve goals for her future.
