Danny is a senior living with a disability who has been part of the St. John’s community for years. Because of your support, he’s living a full, active life filled with friendships, independence, and purpose.
“Danny brings sunshine and just laughter with him everywhere he goes,” says Leatha, a longtime friend and colleague.
Most mornings start with coffee at the kitchen table, shared with his roommates and close friends, Eddie and Donald. From there, Danny heads to work at Thunderbolt Broadcasting, the local radio station he loves. He works independently, takes pride in his work, and has been a trusted presence there for over a decade. Having a job, and earning his own paycheck, means everything to Danny. It gives him independence and the freedom to enjoy the things he loves.
When he’s not working, Danny stays busy in the community. He enjoys visiting places like Discovery Park of America, cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers, grabbing meals with friends, and running into familiar faces who know him by name. He isn’t just supported in his community, he belongs.
At the end of the day, Danny comes home to a place where he can unwind. He, Eddie, and Donald cook dinner together, take care of everyday chores, and have fun together watching tv or doing crafts.
