Doyle has been working at McCartney's Produce Company for three years. Before coming to SJCS, he worked at a sheltered workshop that did not make him feel like part of his community or encourage him to gain new skills. Doyle likes that his job with McCartney Produce puts him in contact with new people and makes him more independent!

WHO ! ARE U PEOPLE?? WHAT DO U DO ??
"Eighty-one years after the passage of the Fair Labor Standards Act, it is still legal to pay an individual with a disability less than minimum wage. Society continues to keep this valuable work force from fully integrating into the workplace with their non-disabled peers. It’s time to end the madness and ensure all workers enjoy equal rights and opportunities by bringing an end to the 14(c) subminimum wage certificate program," writes Dwayne Webb, Program Director Day & Employment Services for Tennessee. #SJCSTN Read more ~> www.tennesseeworks.org/lets-move-the-subminimum-wage-sheltered-workshops-to-history-books/ ... One thing I know to be true about so many, is that they give more than 100%! They take pride in their jobs. You don't often see this with just everyone. The folks I had the opportunity to know in NWTN never wanted to miss work. They looked forward to it. They truly deserve equal pay, especially if they prove to be an asset to their employer. Keep up the good work Dwayne. You are definitely moving mountains!
I saw a custodial job advertisement. It was paid $18 an hour. Full-time with benefits
Dwayne is one of the brightest minds in equal opportunity. He supports all people with calm, logical, and on-target actions. It is uplifting to see his steady progress and the positive attention he brings to diversity and to SJCS. Julia Bratcher
Well said! The day will come soon when all are treated equally. KEEP ADVOCATING!! Dewayne you are doing great in representing our people!!
Keep up the wonderful work representing our people
D represents!! Great job!!
Everyone deserves the same pay rate for the job they do. It doesn't matter about a disability, a color of skin, or your gender, it should be equal.
Disabled are peoole too. It may take extra time or adaptations but we can still work. Inclusiom and acceptance over discriminatiom
