District of Columbia
St. John’s Community Services has served the Washington, DC community since its founding in 1868. Today, SJCS-DC supports children and adults with intellectual, developmental and other disabilities through education services located within the DC Public Schools, and residential, employment, and day services located throughout the community. SJCS-DC was the first agency in DC to attain the highest ratings established by the District's Developmental Disabilities Administration and anticipates receiving CARF accreditation in the fall 2011. Pennsylvania
In 2000, SJCS initiated employment services in Philadelphia to support many former residents of the Pennhurst State Institution. Today, SJCS-PA supports people with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities to determine their career path and attain competitive jobs. In 2009, SJCS-PA launched adult day services for individuals to participate in meaningful community activities, volunteer for a nonprofit agency and/or build skills for future employment. Tennessee
SJCS entered Tennessee in 1999 to assist people transitioning from the Arlington Developmental Center and returning to their home communities. Today, SJCS-TN supports individuals with intellectual, developmental, and other disabilities through residential, employment, and adult day services. SJCS-TN has earned the highest "quality tier" rating by the state and received CARF accreditation in the fall 2010. Learn more >
Virginia
In 1991, SJCS began providing employment and community-based services in Virginia. Currently, SJCS-VA supports people with intellectual, developmental and other disabilities throughout Northern Virginia through residential, employment, and adult day services. A new service, In-Home Support, enables people to remain in their homes environments. All SJCS-VA services have received CARF accreditation since 2001. Learn more >
