In 1991, St. John’s Community Services began providing employment and community-based adult-day services in Northern Virginia for people with disabilities, building upon the successful decades of experience in the District of Columbia.  Later, SJCS-VA introduced residential services and  by the late 1990’s expanded  services  throughout Northern Virginia, including Fairfax County, Arlington County, Alexandria, Falls Church and Loudoun County.

Today, SJCS-VA supports adults with intellectual, developmental and other disabilities with a comprehensive array of services so that they may live, work, participate and develop relationships in communities of their choosing.  A recent program addition, In-Home Support, provides discrete health services to people with disabilities enabling them to remain in their homes for as long as possible. All SJCS-VA services are fully accredited by CARF, the internationally recognized accreditation body.
